According to the report of the international group Tasnim news agency quoting Novosti news agency, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, reported this morning, Saturday, that a joint exercise between the Russian Navy and the Egyptian Navy will be held in the Mediterranean Sea.

The official website of this ministry states: This exercise will be held in the form of “PASSEX” with the aim of coordinating joint actions, communication training and inspection actions.

According to this According to information, on the Russian side, the missile cruiser “Varyag” and the frigate “Seaman Shaposhnikov” will participate in this exercise. And the ENS Al Qadeer frigate belonging to the Egyptian Navy also participates in this maneuver. Of these two Russian warships, according to the previous plan, entered the port of Alexandria, Egypt, and are going to participate in joint naval exercises. 

The crew of the Russian ships were welcomed by the representatives of the Egyptian Navy Command upon their arrival in this port and joint plans were planned for them. The warships will remain in Alexandria until Saturday, and then their presence will end by participating in a bilateral exercise.
