The British Foreign Minister emphasized that the West should show Moscow that it fully supports Ukraine through comprehensive sanctions against Russia.

report Mehr News Agency, quoted by Rashatoudi, British Foreign Minister David Cameron announced that the West should show Russia that the West stands “absolutely” behind Ukraine through the embargo on all Russian assets.

He said about this: We will show Russian President (Vladimir) Putin that we are completely behind Ukraine: we will chase (Russia’s) money and oil. We will stop the gas, we will stop the ships, we will do everything we can to stop the Russian war machine.”

The British Foreign Minister added: Britain is hunting companies that do business with Russia around the world. We will sanction companies in China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, even in Israel that we believe are supplying dual-use materials to Russia.”

Before this, Reuters news agency quoted the office of the rotating presidency of the European Union Council in Brussels as saying that the ambassadors of this union officially started the accession negotiations of Ukraine and Moldova to This block agreed.

Belgium, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for a period of 6 months, wrote on the “X” channel that the economic and finance ministers of the European Union should meet on June 21 , officially agree with this decision.

According to Reuters, simultaneously with the advance of the Russian army in the Donetsk region and the opening of a new front in the “Kharkiv” region located in the northeast of Ukraine, the accession negotiations to the Union began. Europe can be a source of inspiration for Kyiv!

This agreement means that Hungary has abandoned its opposition to the gradual membership of Ukraine in the European Union. Budapest, which has friendly relations with Moscow, has expressed doubts about the European Commission’s assessment of Ukraine’s readiness for accession. The European Commission claimed last week that Ukraine and Moldova have all the criteria to start the accession negotiations.

The 27 members of the European Union must unanimously agree to start negotiations, which of course will take several years. Belgium and the European Commission were eager to get approval to start accession talks before Hungary takes over the rotating presidency of the EU (from July 1 for 6 months). Since the start of Russian military operations in Ukraine in February 2022, Kyiv has applied for EU membership, and four months later, the bloc granted Kyiv “candidate” status.

This decision comes at a time when the agricultural sector of the European Union and specifically the farmers are strongly against the accession of Ukraine to this block, and a few months ago in response to The entry of cheap and tax-exempt agricultural products from Ukraine into the European Union caused widespread protests.
