Financial Times: Jinping did not fall into the American trap to attack Taiwan!
Reporting Mehr News Agency, citing Anatoly, the English newspaper Financial Times claimed in a report that Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a meeting he had last year with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, about the effort America has warned to provoke Beijing to attack Taiwan.
Financial Times, in this report published based on information received from informed sources, wrote that Jinping gave this warning during a meeting with von der Leyen in April 2023. . He traveled to China last year, which coincided with French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to this country.
According to the Times, Jinping said in this meeting that “America is trying to trick China into attacking Taiwan, but he (Jinping) is America’s prey.” He has not received it.”
This report was published at the same time as the tension in the Taiwan Strait escalated. In response to the inauguration ceremony of the new president of Taiwan, Lai Ching-te (William Lai), China held drills around the island. Beijing has emphasized that Taiwan belongs to China and considers any separatist action as well as high-level diplomatic relations of other countries with the island to be a violation of the “One China” principle.
If the Financial Times report is true, this is the first time that the Chinese president has made such a claim against a foreign leader. American officials have increased relations with Taiwan in recent years, but the American government claims that it still adheres to the principle of one China!
