Grossi: Iran should allow access to IAEA inspectors

according to the report of Tasnim news international group, Rafael Grossi In an interview with the Russian newspaper Izvestia, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency said that the JCPOA has lost its meaning and no one adheres to it.

The Director General of the Agency said this : Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, we need to return to diplomacy. We had the JCPOA, which is now only on paper and has no meaning anymore. No party implements it and does not adhere to it.

At the same time, he claimed: In order to conclude a new agreement, Iran must allow access to its nuclear facilities to Give agency inspectors. I tell my colleagues in Iran that they should at least give the IAEA access to nuclear facilities in order to help return to the second version of the nuclear deal or any other agreement. We should not repeat the scenario of North Korea; A scenario in which decades of efforts and negotiations were useless.

Grossi also claimed that the agency does not pursue an anti-Iranian policy.

The members of the Agency’s Board of Governors recently approved the resolution proposed by three European countries, England, Germany and France, against Iran and demanded Iran’s cooperation with the United Nations Nuclear Watchdog. 

Iranian authorities had warned before the approval of this resolution that they would give a proper and necessary response to it.

Some western media have reported that the Islamic Republic of Iran has informed the Atomic Energy Agency of its intention to further develop the country’s nuclear program by installing new centrifuges at the Natanz and Fardo sites. These media claimed that Tehran’s action was in response to the anti-Iranian resolution of the Agency.
