During the general meeting of the International Joint Forum “Global Majority for a Multipolar World” in Russia, Medvedev said that a number of countries, especially Western countries, will not make any effort to maintain their hegemony and control over resources. material, natural and human, and as a result, they do not hesitate to maintain the colonial system that they have been used to for centuries.
He pointed out: “The time of colonial exploitation has passed, but the descendants of the colonialists are desperately clinging to their heritage, and this performance is reflected in the economic policies of the West, especially the policy of sanctions.”
This senior Russian official continued: Any international restrictions can only be applied by international organizations, especially the United Nations Charter, and despite this, such efforts are being made. These policies have a negative impact on the entire global community and slow down the growth of the global economy and exacerbate logistical problems.
Medovdev emphasized opposition to efforts to impose discriminatory policies on other countries and called on humanity to jointly fight against these remnants of the past.
The vice chairman of the Russian Security Council emphasized that the member countries of the BRICS group must defend the basic principles of international law contained in the UN Charter.
Dmitry Medvedev also said: We must constantly defend the basic principles of international law contained in the UN Charter and resist any attempt to misinterpret it, including Imposing an irregular world order and describing it as a rules-based world order, which only benefits Western countries.
