report Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, in response to the NATO Secretary General’s recent statements about the condition of Ukraine joining this US-led military alliance, said that Kiev under no circumstances will not join NATO.
Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recently claimed that the condition for Ukraine to join this alliance is a victory against Russia, and Ryabkov emphasized in response to this claim: This means This will never happen.
He added: I hope Stoltenberg understands this. He knows better than me how the awful decision of 2008 was made; When NATO leaders agreed at the highest level that Ukraine would become a member of NATO. This decision is the spark for the major part of the crisis that we are witnessing today. If NATO members are ready to fall into the same trap again, then they have not learned any lessons from history and as a result they will be hit again and this time their bruises will be worse.
In response to the question that this means that Ukraine will never join NATO, he emphasized again: I believe that the issue is completely ruled out.
