According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in an interview He complained to the Swiss newspaper “Noye Zurich Zeitung” about the lack of consensus of the UN Security Council against Iran’s nuclear program.

In an interview with this German-language publication, Grossi repeated his earlier claims that the IAEA had lost sight of key aspects of Iran’s nuclear activities, claiming to have such insight to confirm the civilian nature of the program. Iran’s nuclear power is necessary. He said: “Therefore, I say to the Iranians: We have no confidence.” You may repeat a hundred times that everything is good about your nuclear program, but there is no trust for sufficient reasons.” Analysts say that the Director General of the IAEA played the main role in preventing the fruitfulness of the JCPOA negotiations. By insisting on not closing the so-called alleged cases, it has created a difficult obstacle in this direction. However, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency admitted that there is no information that Iran is secretly Pursuing a parallel nuclear program to produce nuclear weapons does not exist.

In response to the reporter’s question of whether it can be said that Iran is secretly enriching uranium to produce weapons, he said: This is a very unlikely conclusion.”

The director general of the agency added: “We have no information that the Iranians are secretly pursuing a parallel nuclear program. According to our information, there was such a program in the past, but there is no evidence of its existence now.” In another part of this interview, Raphael Grossi referred to efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers. which is known as the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” or “JCPOA” and said that returning to this agreement is no longer possible. He said: “Efforts to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran have failed and Both sides have accused each other. Unlike three years ago, it is clear that it is not possible to simply return to this nuclear agreement, but it must be renewed from the ground up. Iran’s technologies have made a lot of progress since then.”

In 2018, the US government withdrew from this agreement, which was approved by the Security Council, in violation of all its obligations. The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that the real return of the other party to the nuclear agreement and the transformation of the International Atomic Energy Agency as a real legal organization (instead of a political agent of the West) will be the main precondition for returning to the cooperation mechanism established in the JCPOA. /p>

Noye Zurich Zeitung reporter further asked Grossi that the IAEA could technically involve the Security Council in this case, but this action would not be useful because Russia could use the veto to prevent action against Iran’s nuclear program. .

Grossi said: “Exactly. This is one of the negative consequences of the current geopolitical tensions and a backward step compared to the past. In the past, I could always count on some common ground between veto-wielding powers in the Security Council in the event of a violation by Iran. This situation no longer exists.”
