Guterres: The world will not tolerate the transformation of Lebanon into Gaza again

Antonio Guterres stressed that the people of the world cannot bear for Lebanon to become another Gaza.

He stated: All parties must adhere to Security Council Resolution 1701 regarding Lebanon. There is no military solution to the tense situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border. So far, many lives have been lost on both sides of the blue line between Lebanon and Israel, and tens of thousands of people have been displaced.

The Secretary General of the United Nations emphasized: Israel does not allow the Blue Helmets to accompany aid convoys in Gaza.

Guterres continued: Stopping hostilities and achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is the only solution to the current crisis. The world must say loud and clear that an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is not only possible, but necessary.

He also said: We continue to push for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the unconditional release of prisoners and a path to a two-state solution.
