“Abdullah Hamdard”, deputy policy maker of the Taliban government’s prisons management department, announced that there are currently 60 foreign citizens in Afghan prisons, 10 of whom are women.
Hamdard said that these people are imprisoned in Afghanistan for various reasons.
He added that there are nearly 20,000 prisoners in Afghanistan, of which about 1,500 are women. The Taliban further emphasized that by creating the field of religious and modern education, Afghanistan’s prisons have become a place of reform.
