The President of the Philippines in the midst of tension with China: “Manila has nothing to fear”

Referring to the recent violent standoff between the country's navy and Beijing's coast guard in the South China Sea, the Philippine president claimed that he would never fear "anyone."

report Mehr News quoted by TART, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos claimed that Manila was never separated from any country after the recent tension between the country’s navy and the Chinese coast guard, which escalated into violence. He will not be afraid.

Marcos, during a visit to the Philippine forces stationed in the South China Sea, awarded medals of bravery to the sailors involved in the tension with the Chinese Coast Guard last Monday. During this visit, he said: We are never afraid and no one can oppress us.

Manila has accused China’s coast guard of a “brutal attack” on Filipino sailors with melee weapons. Also, the United States, England and Canada, as allies of the Philippines, have condemned Beijing’s actions.

According to local media, eight Filipino sailors were injured in the latest maritime incident between Filipino sailors and the Chinese Coast Guard in disputed waters in the South China Sea.

The English-language newspaper “Inquirer” published in the Philippines, citing knowledgeable sources, claimed that during this incident, the Chinese Coast Guard searched a Philippine ship and in this confrontation A soldier’s finger was also cut off!

In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry rejected the Philippines’ account of the tension and emphasized that the appropriate measures taken by the Beijing Coast Guard are completely legal, professional and beyond reproach. And it is condemnation.
