According to the Arabic site Tasnim News Agency
, by the decree of the head of the Supreme Judicial Council of Syria, seven Syrian judges were removed from their responsibility on charges of corruption, which is considered the most important measure against corruption in the Syrian judicial system in recent years. This action of the Syrian government showed that Damascus is serious in implementing reforms in this country in all dimensions in the post-war period, and that Syria is taking a different path.
Of course, the case of fighting corruption is not only related to the judicial system, and important changes have also occurred in the legislature. In this regard, the Syrian parliament was also asked to amend the law on the audit of representatives. According to this directive, the immunity of the representatives will be revoked if the judicial branch is requested to deal with cases related to corruption or other crimes. In this regard, the Baath Party decided to cancel the membership of 30 representatives of the Baath Party in parliament and government offices in one of the most extensive anti-corruption measures in recent decades.
Mohand Haj Ali, a political affairs expert, in a conversation with a Tasnim reporter in Damascus, pointing out that the internal audit and monitoring system is common in all parties in the world, said: if a member of the party Violating the orders of the party’s parliamentary system will definitely have negative consequences for him and will lead to the adoption of punitive measures as stipulated in the party’s constitution. In the meantime, the Baath party is also a decisive party that is on the way to being promoted as a nationalist party, and therefore we see positive actions by the party in the way of fighting corruption.
