The rise of mass shootings in America
Report Webangah News quoted Mehr News Agency, according to Reuters, according to the FBI, the American Federal Police, there have been nearly 50 mass shootings across the country in the past year.
According to the annual report published by the FBI, forty-eight mass shooting incidents have been recorded in the United States in 2023. These incidents have killed 244.
The US Federal Police report states that although the number of such incidents will decrease by 4% compared to 2022 (50 incidents), the number of incidents Mass shootings have increased by 60 percent since 2019 and have increased from 30 cases in 2019 to 48 cases last year.
According to this report, these 48 shootings in 26 US states and in places such as open air, commercial, educational, health care spaces and residences, led to Dozens of people were killed. The FBI classified nearly a third (15) of these incidents as mass killings.
It is stated in this report that out of 49 people responsible for these incidents, 30 people were arrested, 7 people committed suicide and 12 people were killed. Almost three-quarters of the shootings (43) were carried out with handguns, 16 with rifles and one with a shotgun.
