We welcome the initiatives regarding the relations between Syria and Türkiye

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted SANA, Syrian President Bashar Assad and Russian President’s Special Envoy Alexander Lavrentiev met and discussed with each other.

In this meeting, Assad welcomed Syria’s initiatives related to relations between Damascus and Ankara based on respect for Syria’s right to full sovereignty over all its lands and fight against all kinds of violence. He emphasized terrorism and terrorist organizations.

The President of Syria also announced that these initiatives reflect the will of the respective countries to establish stability in Syria and the region.

Assad added: Syria has always had a positive and constructive approach to all relevant initiatives. The success and fruitfulness of any initiative depends on respecting the sovereignty of countries and their stability.

Also, during this meeting, the President of Syria praised the peace initiative of the Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the conflict between Moscow and Kiev and said: This initiative is the real basis for a solution. It forms a peaceful conflict between two countries. If the West and Ukraine oppose this initiative, they will be fully responsible for the blood shed.

“Alexander Lavrentiev”, the special envoy of the President of Russia, in this meeting, also expressed his country’s support for all the initiatives related to the relations between Syria and Turkey by the countries that want to reform He emphasized that they are interested and said: “It seems that the current conditions are more suitable than ever for the success of mediations.”

Lavrentiev continued: Russia is ready to push the talks forward. The goal is to succeed in re-establishing relations between Syria and Türkiye.
