Moscow: The agreement between Russia and North Korea is to ensure the security of the region
According to Webangah News quoted by Tasnim News agency agency quoting Sputnik, Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Wednesday about the conclusion of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and North Korea that the agreement does not aim to form a military alliance based on Western models.
He pointed out that the cooperation between Russia and North Korea is not against third countries and does not threaten the peace in Northeast Asia, he emphasized: the agreement reached is an important mechanism to ensure the security of the region.
Given that the document obligates the other to help in the event of a war against one side, Zakharova pointed out that the treaty should not cause concern for countries planning a military attack against North Korea.
While South Korea and the United States are doing provocations on the Korean Peninsula, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry added: “This document should not be a threat of a new war on the Korean Peninsula, including the use of nuclear weapons.”
He finally stated: Moscow and Pyongyang have taken legal measures aimed at stopping the increasing threats of the West.
