Aliyev dissolved the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan
The Press Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that Ilham Aliyev ordered the dissolution of the National Assembly of this country.
Aliyev’s press office announced in a statement that Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev dissolved the National Assembly of this country on Friday.
According to this statement, the head of government has also set early elections for the parliament for September 1st.
Regular elections were initially planned for November, but the ruling New Azerbaijan Party proposed to dissolve the National Assembly and hold early elections to avoid coinciding with the COP29 environmental summit, which will be held in November in Azerbaijan.
