The president of Bolivia denied the accusation of participation in the coup

Bolivian President Luis Arce denied any involvement or knowledge of the failed coup against the country's government.

According to Reuters, Arce emphasized in a news conference that “Juan Jose Zuniga”, the leader of the coup, acted according to his own will. After this failed coup, the situation has returned to normal.

Zuniga claimed on Wednesday after his failed coup and before he was arrested, without providing any documentation, that Arce had ordered him to try to increase his popularity for the coup.

After the coup d’état, Arce released a video in which he ordered Zuniga to withdraw the soldiers from the presidential palace.

He said to Jose Zuniga: I am your captain and I order you to withdraw your soldiers and I will not allow this disobedience.

Zuniga told reporters before entering the building that he still recognizes President Arce as the commander-in-chief of the army, but he emphasized that a new cabinet will be formed soon.

José Wilson Sanchez, the new commander of the army, after accepting his position, ordered the withdrawal of military forces to their base.

Bolivian Interior Minister Eduardo del Castillo said on Thursday night: At least 17 people have been arrested on charges of attempting a coup.

The coup attempt was widely condemned worldwide, including in Latin America. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani also condemned the coup attempt in Bolivia. -circle”/> International International
