The President of the United Nations General Assembly: It is time for the war in Gaza to stop

Referring to the high number of martyrs of the Gaza war, the UN official called for a ceasefire.

Denis Francis, the president of the United Nations General Assembly, said in condemning the ongoing aggression and killing of the Zionist regime in Gaza: “Enough is enough.” Many civilians have already lost their lives in Gaza. We lost a lot of women and children in situations that were definitely avoidable. The time has come for this situation to stop.”

According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency, this UN official went on to say: “Ceasefire is one of the most important measures that should be taken, because we hope it will lead to a political process and eventually lead to a two-state solution.”

It should be said that, while the American president has introduced his ceasefire plan as an “Israeli” plan, many Zionist officials have so far expressed their opposition to it. However, due to the strong internal differences among high-ranking Zionist officials, the position of this regime regarding the ceasefire is not very clear.

On the other hand, the Hamas movement has always had specific positions regarding the ceasefire in Gaza. Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, reiterated at the beginning of this week: “The Hamas movement showed flexibility and agreed to the proposed proposals, on the condition that these proposals lead to the end of aggression and the complete withdrawal of the Zionists from the Gaza Strip.” He also clearly emphasized that any agreement that does not include a ceasefire and the end of aggression by the invaders will not be accepted.
