Spain joined South Africa’s appeal against Tel Aviv in the International Court of Justice
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain and the International Court of Justice announced in two separate statements about Madrid’s official request to join South Africa’s appeal against the Zionist regime at the International Court of Justice.
According to the website “Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain announced in its statement that it entered into this case based on the 1948 United Nations Agreement for the Trial and Prevention of Genocide and referring to paragraph 63 of the court’s statute.
According to this statement, other countries such as Colombia, Mexico and Palestine are currently participating in this case, and other countries such as Ireland, Belgium and Chile are planning to join this case.
This ministry further emphasized that the purpose of such an action is to participate in restoring peace to Gaza and the West Asia, ending the war and strengthening the two-state solution, which, according to this statement, is the only guarantee of peaceful and safe coexistence between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
“José Manuel Álvarez”, the foreign minister of Spain, announced in a press conference in Madrid on June 6 that his country will request to join the call to stop the genocide in Gaza.
He said: We are doing this because of our commitment to international law and our desire to participate in the court’s performance and support the United Nations and strengthen the role of the court as the highest legal organization in the world.
On January 26, the International Court of Justice ordered the Zionist regime to do its best to prevent genocide during its military operations in Gaza.
But since then, South Africa has repeatedly encouraged this court to take action and emphasized that due to the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, the court should order more immediate measures.
In this regard, the court once again ordered the Zionist regime to immediately stop its military attack on Rafah on May 24.
“Yolanda Diaz”, the Deputy Prime Minister of Spain, had previously said that Palestine will be free from the river to the sea.
At the end of the video that was shared on social networks, he emphasized that Spain’s move to recognize the Palestinian state on May 28 was only the beginning of this road.
In front of Tel Aviv, he condemned these words.
Margarita Robles, the Minister of Defense of Spain, also described the war against Gaza as a real mass murder on May 25, a few days after similar statements by the deputy prime minister of this country.
