The response of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to the expansion of settlements in the West Bank

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly opposed the new movement of the Zionists in giving legitimacy to five settlement centers in the West Bank and the plan to build thousands of new housing units.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation stated: All actions and decisions taken by the occupiers are illegal and aimed at establishing their colonial rule in the Palestinian lands, and according to international law and Security Council resolutions in this regard, especially Resolution No. 2334 of 2016 , is void.

This organization also warned about the dangerousness of the terrorist actions of the settlers in the West Bank and at the same time asked the international community to consider Israel as the occupier and stop the genocide in Gaza and illegal actions in all occupied Palestinian lands. act.

This reaction of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation comes after the Zionist media reported that the Cabinet of the Israeli regime on Thursday agreed to the measures proposed by the finance minister of the regime, Bezalel Smutrich, against the recognition of the Palestinian state.

The Cabinet of the Zionist regime agreed with sanctions against the officials of the Palestinian Authority and giving legitimacy to five settlement centers in the West Bank.

According to Zionist sources, the sanctions against the Palestinian Authority will be imposed following a complaint against the Zionist regime in the Hague Court and the possibility of issuing an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and War Minister Yoav Gallant.

According to these sources, the Zionist Cabinet has taken actions including canceling the licenses and privileges of senior officials of the Palestinian Authority, restricting the movement of these officials and punishing them in case of “incitement against Israel” and canceling the executive authority of the Palestinian Authority in the south of the West Bank. He agreed.

The Cabinet of the Zionist regime also agreed to publish tenders for construction in the West Bank and to hold a meeting of the Supreme Planning Council to approve the plans for the construction of thousands of residential units.

In this regard, Smotrich claimed: Sanctions against the Palestinian Authority and the strengthening of settlements are a clear message for any country that recognizes Palestine. The Palestinian Authority has joined Hamas to harm Israel. The formation of the Palestinian state in the heart of Israel is a threat and I will not allow such a disaster.

According to the report of Channel 12 of the Zionist regime’s television, the army and the officials of the internal security service of this regime (Shabak) had suggested not to agree to Smotrich’s actions because it would probably lead to an escalation of tension in the West Bank.

In May, Spain, Ireland and Norway, followed by Slovenia, Armenia and Jamaica recognized the state of Palestine. The recognition of the Palestinian state is in line with the pressure on the Zionist regime to end the war against the Gaza Strip.

Since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa storm operation in Gaza last October 7th (15th Mehr 1402) until now, the extensive settlement construction of the Zionist regime in the West Bank has gained more speed.
