Palestinians in the north of Gaza eat leaves from trees due to hunger
Palestinian activist Mansour Shuman says that the situation in Gaza is deteriorating and the people of northern Gaza have resorted to eating tree leaves due to famine and lack of food.
According to Al-Jazeera, Shuman, who was in Gaza until March, told Al-Jazeera: “Famine has spread in the north of Gaza. One of my friends texted me and said, “We eat leaves to get our nutrients.”
Shuman called for the land crossings to be opened as soon as possible to allow the entry of thousands of trucks full of humanitarian aid that organizations around the world have given to Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, when the Zionist regime began its destructive attacks against the Gaza Strip with the support of the United States, tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of whom were women and children, were martyred and injured in these attacks, and the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip was destroyed in a large way. An unprecedented human disaster occurred in this region.
As a result of these attacks and the restrictions imposed by this regime and due to the severe lack of food, water, medicine and fuel, the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially the 2 provinces of Gaza and the Northern Province, are on the brink of famine and the lives of children and the elderly in this area It has been compromised.
