Increasing the powers of the German counterintelligence service

Germany's counterintelligence service will receive a license based on which it will deal with the enemies of this country.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, according to Tass, the German counter-intelligence service will soon receive permission to confront the enemies.

German newspaper Die Welt reported on Friday that Germany’s military counter-intelligence service (MAD) will soon be granted a license that would allow it to protect against the influence of enemies, especially Russia.

The German media, citing a draft bill on the expansion of the powers of the German counter-intelligence service, announced that the agency would seek to use its extensive intelligence capabilities outside of military bases. Germany is during foreign missions. In addition, the service wants to monitor not only its own soldiers, but also foreign nationals by intercepting their communications and using informants.

According to the report, Germany’s Ministry of Defense is looking to grant additional powers to strengthen Germany’s counterintelligence service. “Olaf Schultz”, the chancellor of Germany, earlier, referring to the political situation in Europe and the alleged threats from Russia, called for the strengthening of the country’s counter-espionage service.
