Nothing new has happened in the ceasefire talks

The senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced in a speech that nothing new has happened in the process of the ceasefire talks, and what is being reported from the American government is to put pressure on Hamas.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Al Jazeera, “Osame Hamdan”, a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said in a statement: “The occupiers insist on closing all crossings in the Gaza Strip, and dying as a result of starvation is a The truth has been disguised.

Hamdan said: The situation in the Gaza Strip, especially in the Gaza and North provinces, has become catastrophic and could lead to the death of thousands of people from hunger and famine. United Nations estimates indicate that 70 percent of Gazans are at risk of famine.

He added: 350,000 of our children under the age of 5 in Gaza are facing acute malnutrition. According to UN estimates, more than half of the families in Gaza have access to only one meal a day.

Hamdan said: The occupiers are carrying out punitive measures to block the path of aid to our people in Gaza. There is no safe place in the Gaza Strip, and the invaders are constantly targeting the places they declared safe.

He added: The actions of the occupiers in general are worse than the events of the Nazi detention centers. The weapon of inflicting hunger is an organized crime by which the occupying cabinet disobeys all the laws and rulings of the International Criminal Court.

Hamdan said: The American government is directly responsible for the disastrous situation of our nation from a legal, political and human point of view. We stress that the floating pier that the American government set up on the shores of Gaza was only for show.

He continued: The international community should act quickly to open the crossings of the Gaza Strip. In a special way, we once again emphasize the necessity of speeding up the opening of the Rafah crossing.

Hamdan added: The real position of the Prime Minister of the (Zionist) regime’s cabinet is still to escape from the requirements of the prisoner exchange agreement. We regretfully follow the position of the US government, which insists on strongly blaming Hamas and putting the responsibility of not reaching an agreement on the shoulders of this movement.

He said: Nothing new has happened in the talks to stop the war and what is reported from the American government is to put pressure on Hamas. We are ready to seriously interact with any text that includes a complete and final ceasefire and the return of our compatriots to their land.

Hamdan continued: The last proposal we received regarding the prisoner exchange agreement dates back to June 24, and no new proposal has been made since then. The only solution is the end of the occupation, and our nation cannot agree to its continuation.
