American police killed a 13-year-old teenager for carrying an “apparently real weapon”.

Mark Williams, the police chief of Utica, where the incident took place, said: Police officers stopped two teenagers after 10 pm local time. One of them ran away and pointed what appeared to be a gun at the officers.

In a news conference that was held in the presence of the family of the murdered teenager, he added: One of the police officers shot a bullet that hit the teenager in the chest.

The Utica police chief said first aid was “immediately” administered to the teenager. But he finally lost his life.

Williams declined to provide details on why the two teenagers were stopped by police, saying it was part of the investigation.

However, he stated that the police officers found a fake copy of the GLOCK 17 rifle at the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, Utica Police Department spokesman Michael Kerley said: “This gun looks very real.” But these weapons only shoot pellets or round metal bullets (BB).

The police said that the victim was a Myanmar refugee who studied in the eighth grade.

Utica has a population of more than 65,000 people, and more than 4,200 people of Myanmar descent live there.
