America’s concern about Russia’s intervention in the war between Israel and Hezbollah
Representatives of the US Ministry of Defense and Intelligence are worried that Israel’s attack on the positions of Hezbollah in Lebanon, which is supported by Iran, will further intensify tensions in the region and strengthen Tehran’s military cooperation with Moscow.
According to West Asia Eye MEE, the concerns of current and former American officials regarding the “secondary” and “tertiary” consequences of Israel’s ground attack on Hezbollah show that Russia is considering increasing support for the “axis of resistance”.
A senior American official, who asked not to be named, claimed in a conversation with MEE that in Yemen, Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering providing anti-ship ballistic missiles to the Ansarullah movement.
In November, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Wagner Group, a Russian paramilitary organization, plans to provide a Russian air defense system to Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
William Asher, a former senior CIA analyst in the West Asia, says: “If Israel attacks Lebanon, Iran will probably increase its military ties with Russia to help Hezbollah defend itself.”
After the Al-Aqsa storm operation, experts raised the possibility that a new battle between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime may start again after 17 years.
With the increase of media-political whispers about the possibility of the Zionist regime’s campaign and attack on southern Lebanon, speculations about the level of readiness of the resistance for the ground invasion of the Israeli armored units and at the same time inflicting a counter blow on the Zionist enemy have intensified.
