The display of Putin’s poster disrupted the Brexit leader’s speech

The British Independent wrote: Political activists took down a remote control banner with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin behind him. Under the portrait of the Russian president, there was an inscription in which the Russian leader expressed sympathy with Nigel Farage.

This newspaper reminds that Farage has attracted attention many times because of his comments addressed to Russia and its leader, which were interpreted as supporting Russia in England. The last clear reason to pay attention to Farage was the “war of words with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson”. In it, Farage accused the West of instigating the conflict in Ukraine.

The Independent notes that Boris Johnson accused Farage of “supporting Putin”, the right-wing British populist himself has repeatedly stressed that he respects Putin as a strong politician, but does not share his values. In the context of the conflict in Ukraine, Farage knows that if the West decides at some point to think about a peaceful resolution of the situation, “it would be useful to understand what went wrong”.
