America put its bases in Europe on alert

According to informed sources, several US military bases across Europe were put on high alert.

According to two American officials, following concerns about possible terrorist attacks against American military personnel or facilities in Europe, several military bases of this country were put on alert across the green continent.

According to CNN, one of these bases, which is located in “Stuttgart”, Germany and where the US European Command headquarters is located, changed its alert level to “Charlie” status. According to the US military, this status is applied when an incident occurs or information is received that indicates the possibility of terrorist acts against personnel or facilities.

A US official stationed at a base in Europe says he hasn’t seen this level of threat in “at least 10 years”.

It is not clear what information has increased the level of security, but European officials say that due to the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris and the current football tournament in Germany, the risk of terrorist attacks potentially threatens Europe.

France has separately prepared for the possibility of a terrorist attack in the middle of the Olympic Games. This country has raised its national security warning system to the highest level since March.
