According to the argument of the former NATO Secretary General, Berlin’s refusal to fully arm Kiev will only prolong Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.

Rasmussen, who served as NATO secretary general from 2009 to 2014, said in an interview with a German television channel that the conflict in Ukraine proved that some NATO members, especially Germany, have failed to learn from the Cold War era.

The former head of NATO, despite Germany’s continuous aid to Ukraine, said: “There was a lot of doubt in Germany in important decisions about sending weapons to Kiev.”

Rasmussen criticized Schultz for not sending long-range missiles to Ukraine and said: This doubt only gives Putin more motivation to continue the war
