Foreign representatives condemned the biggest destruction by Israel since October 7
Diplomats based in West Jerusalem and Ramallah condemned the destruction of Palestinian buildings by Israel during a visit to Umm al-Khair in Hebron.
Representatives of Belgium, Canada, Denmark, European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and England noted in a joint statement that this was the biggest demolition operation in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
Diplomats also witnessed the consequences of the destruction of residential buildings, a community center and a power generator that supplied electricity to the area.
The delegation asked Israel to respect its obligations under the Fourth Geneva Convention, including the prohibition of forced transfers and the cessation of destruction and confiscation of Palestinian property.
Earlier, the representative of the European Union considered the operation of evacuation and demolition of Palestinian houses in Al-Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem as illegal and an obstacle to peace.
