The spread of infectious diseases in Gaza

The lack of health facilities has caused the spread of infectious diseases in Gaza.

Unfavorable environmental and sanitary conditions, and at the same time, the growing brutality of the Zionist regime in Gaza has caused a human disaster for the Palestinians in this strip. Hospitals and medical centers in Gaza are also unable to provide services to Palestinian patients due to the bombardment and the lack of sufficient equipment, and this is fueling the health crisis in this area.

According to the Reuters news agency, local sources say that diseases such as hepatitis, scabies, and chicken pox have spread among the people in the central areas of Gaza.

Sami Hamid, one of the doctors in this area, says: Skin diseases are spreading severely among Palestinians, especially among children due to the hot weather and lack of safe water. Diseases such as hepatitis infect civilians due to sewage flowing next to the tents of displaced people.

Now, safe water and the most basic health items are not available to Palestinians, and this issue aggravates the spread of various diseases among Palestinian refugees.

One of these refugees told Al Jazeera reporter: We no longer have the ability to bathe our children like before. Also, medical facilities are not available to the public as they should be. My son is suffering from constant itching due to skin diseases.

The Ministry of Health of Gaza has so far reported 33,551 cases of diarrhea, 13,000 cases of skin infections, 55,000 cases of respiratory tract infections, and 1,000 cases of chicken pox in this area.
