Forest fires in Russia caused the declaration of a state of emergency in two regions in this country.

According to the Reuters news agency, the mayor of the Tuva region announced: “We decided to declare a state of emergency in the region after large-scale fires broke out in forest areas due to high temperatures, strong winds and dry weather.”

Now, more than 1,700 hectares of forest lands in Tuva region have fallen prey to fire. Due to the fact that this area is mountainous and impassable, access for firefighting is not possible.

However, local authorities are hoping for better weather conditions to control the fires. Weather forecasts show that the temperature will drop in the coming days and rain is expected in some areas.
