Zelensky is going through bad days because of the events in America and France

The president of Ukraine is having a bad day due to the defeat of Joe Biden in the debate as well as the results of the first round of elections in France.

Spectator columnist Gavin Mortimer says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is having a bad day because of US President Joe Biden’s defeat in a debate with former White House chief Donald Trump, as well as the results of the first round of elections in France. .

According to Mortimer, it was a bad few days for Zelensky. Zelensky must have “covered his face with his hands” while watching Biden’s “incoherent” performance in the televised debate with Trump.

He added: The results of the first round of elections in France, which may be the end of French President Emmanuel Macron’s career and the end of his support for Ukraine, add to Zelensky’s worries even more.

Zelensky previously said that it is possible to negotiate with Russia through mediation. Also, according to him, Ukraine wants to prepare a plan to resolve the conflict by the end of the year.

Zelensky’s recent statements regarding peace and negotiation show a serious difference from his previous positions. In October 2022, Zelensky signed a law banning any negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He had also presented another peace plan before. Zelensky’s ten-point peace plan was presented for the first time in the fall of 2022 and called for the complete and unconditional withdrawal of Russian forces from all regions of Ukraine. The plan also called for the formation of an international court for Russian military commanders and also for receiving compensation from Russia. At the same time, Russia called this plan very “unrealistic”.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Donald Trump’s advisers Keith Kellogg and Fred Flitz presented him with a plan to end military operations in Ukraine, which would be implemented if he wins the presidential election. They also indicated that the United States should increase aid to Ukraine if Russia refuses to negotiate. According to the advisers, the Russian Federation “could be persuaded to come to the negotiating table and promise to delay Ukraine’s accession to NATO for a long time.” This was while the Ukrainian authorities rejected this plan.

Ukraine’s army has suffered heavy casualties in recent months, and it is reported that some people eligible for military service are fleeing across the border. This country is facing a shortage of manpower and ammunition, and every day more war experts are calling for negotiations and an end to the war process in it.
