The senior UN coordinator for humanitarian affairs and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip added: the activation of the mechanism for sending aid from Egypt to the Gaza Strip will be done in July. This UN official added: The security of the uninterrupted flow of aid to Gaza must be ensured. The military operation in Rafah led to a sharp decrease in the amount of aid sent to Gaza. We still need the approval of an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
Kag continued: I encourage UN members to provide aid and finance humanitarian agencies. An additional contribution of $2.5 billion is urgently needed. We want the Rafah crossing to be opened for humanitarian aid to enter.
The senior UN coordinator for humanitarian affairs and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip said: military activity and the lack of safe roads affect humanitarian actions.
This UN official continued: We want to establish an efficient and reliable structure to prevent conflict and carry out coordination in Gaza. We need to store and transport the required amount of fuel to the Gaza Strip on a daily basis.
