The possibility of dismissal of the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army by Zelensky

A former military official in the Ukrainian army said Zelensky may remove the current army chief to cover his weakness in the war.

Retired Ukrainian General Sergei Krivonos says that the President of Ukraine may want to sacrifice the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Alexander Sirsky, to hide the recent defeats in the Kharkiv region and blame him for the problems.

According to TASS news agency, this former Ukrainian official stated: “Another general will be a victim again. Again, there will be drastic changes in the command of the armed forces. Such extreme actions and the dismissal of senior personnel during war do not help the order of the country.

Ukrainian media reported yesterday that Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, is not very happy with Sirsky because of the lack of readiness of the country’s forces in the Kharkov region and some other issues on the battlefield.

Zelensky previously dismissed “Valery Zalogeny” from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in February. Shortly before this incident, Zalogeni had described the situation on the battlefield as a “deadlock”. This action of Zelensky was later criticized by some officials, including the mayor of Kyiv.

Zalogeny’s departure was the most prominent change in Ukraine’s top military forces since the start of the war, highlighting internal divisions amid the country’s shortage of ammunition and manpower.
