Simultaneously with the warning of Europe; Putin and Orban had a conversation in the Kremlin

The President of Russia hosted the Prime Minister of Hungary and held a meeting with him in the Kremlin Palace.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Russian President Vladimir Putin met and talked with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the presidential palace of this country.

The last time Putin and Orban met each other was in October 2023 on the sidelines of the “Belt and Road” summit in China.

Hungary will hold the rotating presidency of the European Council for the next 6 months. On June 2, Orban visited Kiev as the head of this council and met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

In that meeting, Orban presented the terms of peace in Ukraine to Zelensky, but the president of Ukraine did not accept these terms. Orban personally explained that he represents Europe and that peace is in the best interests of the continent, but this can only be achieved through negotiations with Russia. Kyiv had previously banned any negotiations with Moscow by Zelensky’s order.

The government of Budapest has repeatedly stated that communication channels with Russia should be open in order to find a way to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. In the meantime, Orban reminded about today’s negotiations that he traveled to Russia not on behalf of the European Union but as the Prime Minister of Hungary.

As Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Kremlin, emphasized, the European Union has always criticized and even pressured Budapest due to excessive independence. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has described Orban as a politician who is able to firmly defend the interests of his country.
