If the elections are held, the probability of victory of the rulers of Ukraine is zero
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Ryanovsi news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban: “We had a frank and useful conversation with the Hungarian Prime Minister and in the current difficult geopolitical situation , Russia and Hungary continue to talk to each other and this is important.
Putin further added: We discussed important issues, including the situation around Ukraine; Orban described the details of his trip to Kiev. Orban called for a ceasefire in order to create conditions for negotiations on Ukraine.
He clarified: If Ukraine ends the military rule, it should hold presidential elections. If the elections are held, the probability of victory of the rulers of Ukraine is close to zero. Kiev will not allow a ceasefire because then it will not have an excuse to extend the martial law.
The President of Russia emphasized: There should be no ceasefire or cessation of hostilities in order to rearm the Kiev regime; Russia wants a complete and final end to the conflict. Russia sees Ukraine’s reluctance to resolve issues through negotiations.
Putin also said that Russia sees Orban’s visit as an attempt to revive talks with the European Union.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also said in this press conference: I talked with Putin about achieving peace in Ukraine and the shortest way to achieve it. I heard Putin’s point of view about the existing peace plans, ceasefire and negotiations and the perspective of Europe after the war.
He added: The positions of Russia and Ukraine are very far from each other, a lot of work must be done to bring the end of the conflict closer. We will continue to work to end the conflict in Ukraine.
