Esaad Al-Eidani, the governor of Basra, the southernmost province of Iraq, announced today Saturday the completion of a road to welcome Iranian pilgrims to the shrines at the end of the month of Muharram.
According to the report of Shafaq News, Al-Aidani announced this in a security meeting attended by Mehdi Saleh Abdulwahid, commander of Al-Hashd al-Shaabi operations in Basra and security agencies and service departments, to review the security preparedness of the holy month of Muharram.
In this meeting, Al-Eidani stated that Shalamcheh crossing is one of the important crossings of Basra and is equipped to welcome pilgrims, and announced: The road outside the city has been completed with the cooperation of relevant departments to welcome Iranian pilgrims.
Before this, the head of the central headquarters of Arbaeen predicted that this year four and a half to five million pilgrims will go to Iraq from the borders of our country to attend the Arbaeen ceremony. He called the Khosravi border as the main passage for the pilgrims and emphasized that its infrastructure has made great progress compared to the past. According to the country’s official calendar, the fifth of Shahrivar is equal to 20 Safar 1445 AH, which coincides with Hosseini’s Arbaeen.
