White House: Ukraine joining NATO requires the political will of the members of this alliance

The White House announced that Ukraine's accession to NATO requires the political will of the members of this alliance, which does not exist now.

Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the President of the United States and Director of European Affairs of the National Security Council, said that Ukraine’s admission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization requires the political will of the participating countries, which they currently lack.

According to Reuters, he also announced that NATO will not establish a base in the countries of the Pacific Ocean.

International Radio France reported that Ukraine plans to press this issue (Ukraine’s accession to NATO) at the upcoming NATO meeting in Washington on July 9 and 11.

According to the report, the Kiev regime remains “resolute” in the hope of joining the coalition, but understands that the upcoming summit will not bring it closer to this goal. At the same time, a senior Kiev official emphasized that Ukraine’s chances of receiving an invitation to the military bloc are close to zero.

On July 7, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that no one said that Ukraine would be accepted into the alliance in the next 10 years. According to him, no one specifically talked about ten years, but it is obvious that the admission of Ukraine is a very serious matter. In addition, he emphasized that the victory of Kiev in the conflict is a precondition for any future membership of Ukraine in the military bloc.
