Zakharova: Kyiv uses civilian institutions for military purposes

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirmed that the forces of Kiev deliberately hide behind civilians, use them as human shields and use civilian institutions for military purposes, and this is a violation of international law.

According to the RT report, Zakharova said in a post published on the page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia: The attempts of the Zelenskyi regime to use the children’s hospital disaster in Kiev as propaganda once again confirms its Nazi and inhumane nature. Zakharova explained: On July 8, in response to the Ukrainian army’s attempts to hit Russian economic institutions, Russian forces responded with highly accurate weapons, and military targets in Ukraine such as Artem and Antonov factories, Lukh factory and… targeted 

He continued: Once again, as in the past, the air defense of Ukraine during its work and operations, its air missiles deviated from their path and hit residential buildings and social institutions, which was confirmed according to many local witnesses. One of the rockets of the NASAMS Western Air Defense System hit a building in the territory of the Okhmetdet Children’s Hospital in Kyiv.

They immediately rushed to accuse Russia of killing civilians and children, the Russian official said, without mentioning that in addition to the children’s hospital and civilian institutions, there are military complexes affiliated with the Ministry of Defense and ammunition and weapons depots.

He emphasized that this is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the use of civilian objects for military purposes. In this regard, yesterday, the Ministry of Defense of Russia rejected the claim of intentional Russian attack on civilian targets in Ukraine.
