Newsweek: The BRICS meeting is a sign of increasing dissatisfaction with American policy in the world

In a report, Newsweek announced that the meeting of foreign ministers of BRICS and partners of this organization indicates an increase in dissatisfaction with American policy in the world.

Newsweek columnist Adam Gallagher says: “The BRICS meeting showed that US policy is alienating a growing number of countries.”

According to him, the BRICS meetings are in a favorable comparison with the summits and assemblies of the western countries and promote new security, management and financial systems.

This expert considers the BRICS proposal to de-dollarize as a particular danger for Washington’s positions and points out that China is changing its financial interactions with Russia from dollars to yuan.

Gallagher suggests that the United States reconsider its “unwavering commitment to the idea of global leadership, automatic sanctions, and hypocrisy” before it is too late and most countries turn their backs on the dollar.

Previously, Foreign Policy noted that the expansion of BRICS in Southeast Asia could undermine US influence in the region and also strengthen the process of replacing the dollar.

Last year, about 40 countries either submitted their membership application to BRICS or expressed serious interest in expanding cooperation with BRICS. The importance of BRICS membership is doubling; Because BRICS no longer sees itself as a small economic coalition, but a group of 9 countries with more than 36% of GDP in various continents, which is also active in the fields of security and culture.
