Mikhail Galozin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, told RIA Novosti that Russia regrets Yerevan’s participation in the NATO meeting in Washington.
Galuzin said: Armenia prefers to increase cooperation with NATO or individual members of the alliance, especially in the field of implementing NATO standards, purchasing weapons or holding joint combat training events, and at the summit of this military-political bloc held in Washington. can participate All this can cause nothing but extreme regret.
The diplomat added that the deepening of Armenia’s cooperation with this coalition, whose goal is the “strategic defeat of Russia”, is a threat to destabilize the situation in the South Caucasus. He also called such actions by Yerevan careless.
At the same time, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry reminded that Armenia is still a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). He also paid attention to Yerevan’s participation in numerous contracts in military and technical fields.
Before this, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the US is pursuing goals by inviting Armenia and Azerbaijan to attend the NATO meeting. According to Andrey Nastasin, director of the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the United States did this to separate Yerevan and Baku from Moscow.
