The meeting between Biden and Starmer centered on the ceasefire in Gaza

British Prime Minister and Biden discussed the Gaza ceasefire in the first meeting at the White House.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden will meet for the first time in an official capacity at the White House this Wednesday as the newly elected Labor Prime Minister visits the United States for NATO’s 75th anniversary summit. They did.

According to the White House statement, Biden and Starmer “discussed the importance of reaching a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas that would lead to the release of prisoners and an end to the conflict”.

The heads of the two countries also emphasized the adoption of a “two-state solution” between Israel and Palestine.

Meanwhile, the British and American foreign ministers discussed the latest international developments on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Summit in Washington. This is the first meeting of British Foreign Minister David Lemmy with his American counterpart Anthony Blinken after the victory of the Labor Party in the recent British elections.
