A 10-year security cooperation agreement between Ukraine and Romania was signed

The Office of the President of Ukraine announced in a statement that Kyiv and Bucharest signed a 10-year security agreement today.

Ukraine’s presidential office announced in a statement that Kyiv and Bucharest signed a 10-year security agreement today. Reuters news agency wrote that this agreement brings the total number of long-term bilateral agreements of Kyiv to 23 documents, including the signing of agreements with England, Germany, France and the United States.

The said statement states: Specific areas of cooperation to strengthen security in the Black Sea are a special feature of this agreement.

Ukraine has announced that Romania will assist in mine clearance in the Black Sea and participate in the training of Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots.

Meanwhile, the Romanian Ministry of Defense also announced that this country, along with Bulgaria and Greece, signed an agreement today, according to which the possibility of rapid transfer of troops and weapons to eastern NATO countries is provided.

This military transfer corridor is one of the two corridors that were agreed by the members on the sidelines of the NATO meeting in Washington.

These three countries will also have the possibility of connecting their ports in the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea.

Romania and Bulgaria, together with Turkey, are active in neutralizing stray mines in the Black Sea.

The defense ministers of Romania and Bulgaria also signed a memorandum of understanding today to establish a regional special operations command center, based on which NATO special operations forces will be planned and managed in the Black Sea region.
