11 American individuals and entities targeted by China’s sanctions
China’s foreign ministry announced Friday that it will take “retaliatory measures” against US military companies and senior executives as a result of Washington’s plans to send additional weapons to Taiwan.
This ministry announced that such an action by the US is a violation of the One China principle and interference in the country’s internal affairs.
According to the Global Times, six US companies and five executives were on the target list of “reciprocal measures”, which include the freezing of movable and immovable assets, as well as the prohibition of issuing visas to China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Companies affected by recent sanctions include: Anduril Industries, Maritime Tactical Systems, Pacific Rim Defense, AEVEX Aerospace, LKD Aerospace and Summit Technologies Inc.
China has already taken similar measures against major US companies such as Lockheed Martin and Boeing in response to Taiwan’s arms sales.
Earlier, the US and Taiwan had emphasized on expanding Taipei’s participation in the United Nations system and international forums, while at the same time emphasizing the commitment to the One China policy. Following the increase in China’s military movements, including holding exercises around Taiwan, the Western and American media are trying to provoke Beijing into an unwanted war with Taipei with overt and covert propaganda.
