Washington: In Iran’s nuclear issue, our preference is diplomacy
John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the US National Security Council, said the United States is willing to adopt a negotiated solution to the Iran nuclear issue.
Kirbi said on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Washington: “We know that the wheel of centrifuges is turning in Iran. President Joe Biden has made it clear that we will not allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon. It is clear that we prefer to achieve this goal through diplomacy.”
Kirbi made these statements while, according to the media of the reporter present in the interview, Iran has repeatedly stated that it does not seek to build nuclear weapons and considers it contrary to its general policies.
While claiming that the United States is willing to negotiate, the American official said that there is currently no such diplomatic way, saying: “In the near future, I don’t see a path to negotiating a nuclear agreement.”
Kirbi also claimed that Washington does not expect a change in Tehran’s behavior in the nuclear field and willingness to negotiate with the inauguration of the elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, “Massoud Al-Madijian”.
