US gold futures were mostly unchanged at $2,420.70.
In the other precious metals market, the price of silver fell 1.5 percent to $30.95 an ounce after hitting a one-month high on Thursday. Platinum decreased by 0.1% to $1,003 and 10 cents and palladium decreased by 1.8% to $976 and 63 cents. Both metals were expected to record weekly declines.
