Hungary: Stable European security is not possible without Russia
János Boka, Minister of European Union Affairs of Hungary, said in a conversation with Euronews: “The European Union must interact with Russia to create a stable security structure.”
Boca said: “If we want to build a stable security structure for decades to come, relations between Europe and Russia have to be established somehow.”
He added: “Like all EU member states, we believe that we should fully support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” I think this is an unquestionable issue, but I also believe that a stable security structure in Europe is not possible without interaction with Russia through diplomatic channels.”
Victor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary last week during his trip to different countries, which he called a “peace mission”, met and discussed with the officials of several countries about the implementation of peace in Ukraine. Orban’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin angered Western officials.
Boca told Euronews that the visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister was aimed at creating interaction between the parties of the Ukrainian war and evaluating the ways of mediation through the institutions of the European Union.
