Lukashenko announced the easing of tensions on the border with Ukraine
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said in a meeting about the country’s military security that the recent tensions between Ukraine and Belarus have ended and the Ukrainians have withdrawn their armed forces from the border with Belarus.
According to the official news agency of Belarus, Lukashenko stated: “After our actions, Ukraine withdrew its armed forces from the border, and we do not have any tension with them at the moment. I hope there will be no tension between the two sides in the future.”
Belarus announced at the beginning of this month that its border guards shot down a quadcopter on the border that had flown to this region from the territory of Ukraine. The country’s military officials also said that Ukrainian drones are constantly conducting reconnaissance flights on the border between the two countries. Shortly after, the spokesman of the Belarusian border forces said that in response to Ukraine’s actions, several missile launchers with a range of 300 kilometers and more troops were deployed near the Ukrainian border.
