Netanyahu’s indecisiveness and extravagance in the ceasefire negotiations
In his new press conference, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he is still committed to Biden’s proposal to end the war, but he has “conditions” for finalizing the agreement.
According to Al Jazeera, Netanyahu said that the soldiers of the Zionist regime should have the right to return to the battlefield until “all goals are met” and that the regime’s control over the border of Gaza and Egypt will also continue. In another provocative statement, he said that the war “will end only after we achieve our goals”.
The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime also mentioned today’s barbaric and bloody attack by the occupiers on the “Al-Mawasi” area in the west of Khan Yunis. While the Hebrew media claimed that “Mohammed Zaif”, the commander of the military branch of Hamas, was martyred in this attack, Netanyahu said that he was “not sure” about this incident. He also said that he confirmed the attack after receiving information about the collateral damage.
This is despite the fact that today’s attack by the occupiers on al-Mawasi is one of the most brutal massacres of this regime in the Gaza Strip, and so far 90 Palestinians have been martyred as a result. Hamas has denied the martyrdom of its military wing commander and says it “strongly” condemns the targeting of innocent people. Reports indicate that half of the martyrs of this attack, which was carried out simultaneously with bombs and rockets, were women and children.
Netanyahu’s new statements and its conditions regarding the Gaza ceasefire represent his disruption in the negotiation process. Last night, a Zionist official present at the negotiations, whose name has not been disclosed, announced that the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime will delay the reaching of an agreement for weeks with his new terms. The families of the Zionist prisoners have condemned Netanyahu’s new conditions and his stonewalling on the way to negotiations.
Ahmed Abdul Hadi, the head of the political office of Hamas in Lebanon, says that this movement has asked for a written guarantee during the ceasefire negotiations, which shows that the Zionist regime will not resume the war after the exchange of prisoners.
