According to the FBI, this person’s name is Thomas Matthew Crooks and he is from Battle Park, Pennsylvania. Battle Park is a village about 40 miles south of the Trump rally in Butler. The FBI has not released information about Crooks’ motive for attacking Trump.
Trump was assassinated behind the podium less than 10 minutes after the start of his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. At the time of the shooting, he was giving a speech about immigration when several gunshots were heard. After a while, he covered his ears with his hands and then lay down on the ground under the guidance of his security team.
