The American newspaper New York Post identified Donald Trump's assailant as another person.

The American newspaper New York Post wrote: The gunman who tried to assassinate former US President Donald Trump on Saturday is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from Pennsylvania.

According to the paper, the shooter opened fire on Donald Trump’s outdoor rally in Butler, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when one of the bullets hit Trump in the ear. In this shooting, 9 bullets were fired, and in the end it is said that two people were killed.
Sources said Crooks planted his gun on the roof of a manufacturing plant in Butler more than 130 yards (125 meters) from the scene.

The New York Post also published images showing that American security forces killed the assailant on the roof of the warehouse.
